If you've ever been frustrated by patterns of negative thinking, this is the episode for you. I know that I have in here today we want to talk about the source of that, because when we understand why it's happening, that gives us a lot of insight into how to stop it. And also some ways to stop it. Now, if you're enjoying this, be sure to check out my YouTube channel, I just posted a whole episode on this, I'll put the link in the show notes. Now, the source of our negative thinking is really twofold. This pattern, the habit of negative thinking is twofold. Number one, we have our programming, we literally just learn it from the people around us. I say it all the time. And it's important to remember that the reason we absorb programming when we're very young and our brain is in the Alpha state is for good reason. It is designed to help us acclimate into our communities effortlessly, right. But of course, we know that 70% of that programming doesn't serve us. And this is a perfect example. If you think about people that you know that you grew up with, and your peers, how often do they continue to go back to the same problem, say in their conversations and their own lives, right. And we grew up really learning to do that, not so much learning how to process and release our feelings, not so much learning how to solve the problems and clear our energy space for the here and now. But really, how to keep revisiting them and telling stories. That's okay, as I explained, it's in place for a reason. And as we know, it's really important part of becoming aware of what's going on and reverse engineering it. Secondly, our bodies are in on the game to write. When we feel the same emotion again. And again, we release chemicals and peptides. And our cells develop receptors for those specific chemicals and peptides based on the emotions we feel most frequently. So what you can really think of that as is becoming physically addicted to having the same feelings and emotions. Now let's go back to that pattern of negative thinking or ruminating thinking what's going on there. Your body does not know the difference that you are thinking about something from the past. As far as it's concerned, this is happening right now. Boom, all of those same motions are felt all the same things start happening in your body as when the thing occurred. And you could start to see how this really becomes a cycle that enforces itself. And that's you're like, Oh, that's a bummer. But it's good to know. Because when you know, then you say, oh, but can I use the same system to break this pattern? And yes, you can. Now as you continue to focus on not having those feelings number one and replacing them with more positive thinking and feelings and imagining because really, you're just imagining, then you likewise become addicted to these positive feelings and this cycle becomes your new cycle. So let's just jump into some things that you can do. As you probably know, I'm all about vibrational coherence. We are designed to work optimally when we are in a coherent state. So the first thing I do is check in, is this contributing to my vibrational coherence, my harmony? Well, no, it never is, you know, maybe we need to process those feelings, or take some action. But generally, we're just talking about revisiting the same things again and again. And then I like to look at what can I do differently? In this case? How can I spend my time and invest my energy, my focus and my imagination? Right at this moment, since I am doing that? How can I do it in a way that supports my vibrational coherence. In addition to the YouTube video, I also have a Skillshare course on this where I go in much more detail. But right now I'm going to share one of my absolute favorite things. And that is to take stock of my accomplishments. Well, heck, you're sitting there investing your energy and your time and thinking about something. So I stopped and I say, you know, maybe I'll even make it again. I'll start as far back as I can think, and go year by year. And this is really, really fun. And it's challenging, your brain likes to be challenged. And then you are also creating more and more dense neural networks, around the ideas of your accomplishments, right? Your awesomeness, really, now you have some real practical tools you can go out use in your everyday life. Number one, the simple awareness of how this cycle is created. For me, I found that very liberating, because I know when I was consistently revisiting negative thought patterns, I thought, well, I'm looking around everybody else looks like they're pretty chill. And here I am doing this crazy stuff, right? And you know, when I understood how it worked, and I said, Oh, okay, okay, I understand. And then I understood also what I could do for myself. And then you have the second tool, which is to take stock of all of the ways in which you have grown, in which you have done wonderful things in the world and for yourself. And that is a wonderful way to spend your time to invest Your energy and invest your imagination. Every transformation that we achieve in life happens through experience, not just saying, Yeah, that's cool idea, but from actually putting it into practice, on the YouTube video that I created, I have a few more really cool hacks. And also I have a Skillshare course about it. And I will put the links to both of those in the show notes. So go out there and put this into practice in your own life.
