Happy, Happy New Year, I want to propose the idea of moving beyond resolution and into vision and why it is so important and how it has so much impact in you actually achieving what you're setting out to achieve for the year. Everybody loves to sort of set a new tone for the new year, it's a fresh start, things are turning over, you want to start thinking about, well, what do I want to do with this year? Right? How am I going to make the most of it. And it's really important to have a vision. Because if you don't have a vision, you know, you're going to end up where you see yourself going. So if you don't see yourself going anywhere, you're gonna, you're gonna find that place that nowhere place, and it will be next year, you'll be like, god dammit, I did it again. So we want to have a vision. But my problem with resolutions, first of all, psychologically, you know, you've probably seen the data, I didn't even bother to pull it up this year, I've done it in the past, it's dismal, right? How many people actually achieve their goals. And when they drop off, I think the drop off is like mid February, you know, you're all excited, you're like, I'm going to do this. But the reason that is is because, you know, habit, we have to change your habits. But also, I think that we when we have a vision, instead of a resolution, we are committing internally, to who we really are to becoming more our true selves. Kind of an interesting way that I like to look at the difference between a resolution vers a vision is really just a name like a resolution is like resolved to not be the person that I was all last year, because it didn't get me where I wanted to be, you know, so I'm resolved to not be that person, I'm resolved to basically use willpower, or things that we tend to have a negative connotation around, to try to be in a goal to make a change. Whereas a vision is seeing somebody you already are this is who I really am deep inside. And I have this vision to continue to bring more and more of myself in that way out into my day to day life. And what I like to do with a vision is to actually visualize what does that feel like? What's happening? How is my life different? So basically, if you have a resolution, you wake up in the morning, you're like, Well, I can't eat the cake today to No, no cake, and I can't do this, and I can't do that. And you know, these, this is kind of how we approach resolutions. However, when you have a vision, you wake up to Ooh, Today's a new day. And what are all the creative, expressive ways that I can show up in the world that interests me closer and closer to my vision. And that is a gross and empowering way of approaching, you know, an expansive way, a way that grows your vibration, where's the resolution way that I can eat the cake today way is contracting. It literally contracts your energy, it can track your mood, it feels restrictive, it's not exciting. And we've seen that you're not going to follow through with it right? Whereas the vision is all about eating the cake. Eating my cake. Today, I'm going to eat my cake here is 10 ways I can wake up today and eat my glorious, delicious cake to get closer and closer to my vision. It's delicious, it's fortified, we want to do it. We're excited, we're inspired. We're internally motivated. And that is a really big aspect to you know, psychologically human behavior, whether or not you're going to choose something. Are you intrinsically motivated to do it? Vision is intrinsically motivating. Whereas resolution is intrinsically demotivating. And a wonderful thing that I absolutely love to do. You can do it anytime a year. But now is a great time to do it is to sit down and write out your best day ever from start to finish. You wake up in the morning, where are you? How do you feel who you're with? What are you doing? What are you eating for breakfast, right? And then what happens next, this is the best day ever. You can do anything you want, right? There are no limits or restrictions. Just write out the best day ever from start to finish. All the things you're doing how you feel what's going on. And when you sit down and you reread this every you know, maybe once a week or every couple days or even just every quarter, then it really brings you back to your intention. It brings you back to your vision. It connects you with your why's it emotionally connects you with the feelings of this best day ever, which again, intrinsically motivating. So sit down today and treat yourself to a vision for your best day ever. I do love to write it down. You could even just do it like a little movie in your mind. Right? And have fun with it. So Happy, Happy New Year. I do wish you all the very best and I'll talk to you very soon.
