Could Mr. Toads wild ride hold the secret to happiness? Maybe I want to talk about that today. And if you missed the other episode for this that came before this, it's about the part of the ride, where you're about to careen into the river. Now, quick backstory, in case you haven't heard that yet. This was an original Disney ride, I had the chance to ride it, it was awesome. But it basically takes you through all of these parts of life. You go through a room where someone's teetering on a stack of books, you almost careened into a river, you go into a dining hall or happy diners pushed away from the table. And today, I want to talk about the part of the ride, where you go into a jury LIS courtroom, however, there is a judge and you are declared guilty. Now you might think, Okay, this is about judgment. And that could be there's so much to be said, you know how I feel about judgment. But I think there's a more foundational element here about what we can learn from this ride and our own internal abilities to find happiness and contentment in life. And what I'd like to propose that one explores about this part of the ride is the idea of who cares, who cares what they think, Who cares what the judge thinks, who cares what said about us? Now, there's so much that we do in life, we go around sort of ruminating about what other people think. And there's that famous quote, I'm not who I think I am, I'm who I think you think I am, right. But I would like to go to another famous quote from Krishna Murty, and, you know, famous beloved philosopher. And the story goes that he has a public speaking engagement. And he says, you know, tonight I'm going to share the secret of happiness, and people are on the edge of their seats are like, I can't believe I'm here for this. This is profound, this is happening. I'm here. Everybody's waiting with bated breath. And he says, I just don't care much what happens? And they're like, What is that it? The reason we feel that way is because we have conditioned ourselves to care so much, what happens to care so much? What other people think that it seems like a huge challenge to peel away from that. Literally, the first blog post that I ever wrote, which just warms my heart, I always come back to it. It's this cute little cartoon character putting down a big heavy piece of luggage. And he says, I put it down, I didn't want to carry it anymore. And to me, that's the most liberating thing. But the question is, how in the world do we do that? Right? What I found from my experience is, it's like peeling back layers, you find these practical tools, which I love to do, I love to come up with practical tools that you can wrap your brain around and use in your everyday life. And as you do this, you literally change inside your feelings change, your vibration changes. And you don't have to use the tools anymore, because it's just how you are, how you be how you feel. And so back to this whole idea of not really caring what other people think it's not so much, you know, a lot of people do that sort of angsty zero fucks given man, right. And that's just really creating more negative energy in yourself. And so you want to do it in a really peaceful, harmonized way of just accepting, right. And surely, today was so much going on in the world, people having different points of view about health issues. What I like to say especially, I'm just gonna say it relative to the idea of being vaccinated or not, every single human being should feel good about the choice that they've made for themselves. I truly, deeply believe that. I don't need to debate and argue with someone about why I have a choice that might be different from theirs. I want them to feel good about their choice, I want them to feel at peace with that in harmony with that. And that's an example of acceptance. Another example is when someone says something about you that as far as you're concerned, has no basis in reality, at least not your reality. And it can be challenging, you know, to walk around all day thinking what in the world? Why do they think that? That's not true? And that's really consuming your qi, your energy, your vibe, right? It's bringing you down. It's wasting your time, your energy, your emotional energy, your mental energy. We don't want to do that. Right back to this whole. I'm not who I think I am. I'm who I think you think I am. Who cares? It doesn't really matter what happens, right? When you let go of that and say, Okay, fine, I'm just moving on. Right? But you have to do it in practice for them to become how you actually feel. Initially, you'll be like, I'm letting it go. I'm not gonna think about that. I'm not gonna put my energy into that and it feels challenging at first because you're so used to doing it. But when you discipline yourself and say it's okay, that's what they think that's what they think. And then you start to realize, oh, man, that actually feels really good. To be free of that. and you get kind of, I guess, vibed up in that space, right? And then you think, going forward, I'm not even going to put my time and energy into what other people think doesn't really matter what happens. So going all the way back to Mr. Toads wild ride, that judge in the jury LIS courtroom is not there unless we allow him to be there, right? I'm sure most people can relate to the idea that depending on how old you are, there are probably 1000s of people and situations and experiences that really got you riled up in life. And now when you think back, you think I can't even remember what happened, I can't even remember who was a part of that doesn't matter anymore. And you've let it go, right? You've let that completely out of your energy and out of your headspace. And to me, the key really is to putting conscious, disciplined effort into doing that sooner. And being aware that that's a choice and exercising that choice. So we can just be free and be at peace. Everybody deserves to feel at peace, to feel loved, to feel they belong, and that they matter. That judge doesn't even exist unless we give them our energy. And interestingly enough, if you just want to ponder Mr. Toads, wild ride, when you get to the end of the ride, there is this character that's kind of devilish, but bears a remarkable resemblance to the judge at the end of the ride who offers you redemption, by getting off the ride? So could it be that just by not accepting this judge not allowing this judge to be a part of our reality that that is our redemption, key to happiness? Maybe I don't know fun to think about, and I'll talk to you in the next episode.
