When it comes to getting to where you really want to be in life, I think that on many levels, it's easier to make very small shifts along the way than big giant life changing shifts, of course, those can have their place that can be good. But today, I just want to propose this idea that you can end up in a profoundly different place in your life, just by making tiny little different choices along the way. And it's kind of like a ship. Now, I know nothing about sailing. But I do know that if you make a small, just one or two degree shift along the way, you're going to end up in a wildly different place than either where you had originally been directing yourself towards with your navigation, or if you just paid no attention to the navigation at all. And the same thing is true in life, when we just sort of look at the little opportunities along the way, to shift our direction by just a few degrees with a slightly little choice, they are exponential. And then we end up in a wildly different place a couple of months, or a couple of years down the road. Because of these little choices along the way. And really the easiest thing in the world, a little rule of thumb that I like to use is that if it feels good, lean into it, and if it doesn't feel good, lean away from it. Now, of course, sometimes something doesn't feel good, because it's a challenge, because it's a place where we're ready to grow. So that is a factor as well. But just generally speaking, to keep it simple. Something happens, I just say to myself, does this feel good? And if so, how do I want to lean more into it? And if it doesn't feel good? How do I want to lean away from it? And why? And what are my other options. So you can see that rather than just kind of willy nilly going through life getting tossed around by the waves, since we're doing a whole ship and sailing analogy. Let's go with that. And instead, I'm going to end up having really different life experiences, those little choices along the way are going to empower me to make even more compounding bigger choices, because I realized, oh, wow, that really worked out, I really liked the results of that little choice. And then I'm gonna feel more self confident about choosing for myself, you know, self agency, other bigger choices that are along that same line or sort of relate to that experience. So I have found that this whole process of just if it feels good, lean into it, if it doesn't lean away from it has a really profoundly huge compounding impact on where I end up whether it be a couple of weeks later, a couple of months later or a year later. And it didn't take facing like a crap ton of fear, right, or making really big giant moves in life because I just did little things along the way to get myself to this different destination. And to that end, I like to remind myself and others. You are the captain of your own soul. It's so true. It sounds cool, but it's also super true. I'll talk to you real soon.
